I received an obsidian whale I ordered today, in the hopes of using him for an offering in lieu of black diamond. He has a small surface crack and came with a small piece of blue kyanite with the message "Connection to Divine."
He's absolutely perfect. I am no photographer and have little opportunity to take pictures at my house, but I have left one attached regardless.
Religious Melancholy? Show more
Despite living in a small town with more churches in it than restaurants , a norse pagan came through my line at work.
I commented on his pendant (the iconic hammer) and he just opened up about it. Instead of the common "have a blessed day," he said "may odin smile on you."
And that's all very nice! Though I really wish I had a recognizable symbol I could wear, or a proper symbol at all. Sometimes I feel very lonely.
(To anyone who has followed me, even if you don't see this because I am a secretive creature: I think of you all fondly. I'm just very shy and have a hard time reaching out sometimes even when I am very loud. You are all very lovely. I've checked. I don't know how often I'll interact, but I felt brave enough to type this. I hope everyone has a nice night.)
(I don't know how to deal with social interactions or new people, so instead I am going to post about words as I try to find new words that might be mine. No perfect fits yet)
Henotheism: Belief in or worship of one deity without denying the existence of other deities
Kathenotheism: Belief that multiple deities exist, and different deities are supreme among them at different times
Monolatrism: The worship of a single deity (while possibly believing in others)
I implied I would make an #introduction, so here I am.
I'm Kyra, I'm a PC Pagan for the gods of Arcanum, and a sort-of-henotheist on top of that (that label will change as available words develop).
Primarily, I work with invocation through songs that hit some core of me, and through poetic verse. Sometimes I make charms with tiny envelopes and wax seals.
I am a socially awkward and anxious creature who resorts to quotes for solace rather than go through the difficulty of finding words. Also, I am a PC Pagan.
