Hey witches! I need your help. I’m flying for the first time ever on Thursday and I’ll be in California for three weeks. How uh.. how do I pack my witchcraft shit without seeming suspicious. What crystals are safe to go on planes? Is there a difference between what’s allowed in carry-on and what can go in your regular luggage? I don’t plan to take my WHOLE altar or anything but i definitely can’t leave without a few essentials.
@rose_and_ash yeah wasnt gonna bring any waters. I’m mostly worried about my crystals. I have pretty bad anxiety sometimes and since i’ve never flown before i’m already anticipating needing moral support from them and i just dont know which ones would upset TSA and which ones wouldnt
@casualwitchcraft I mean, generally they shouldnt. If you really want to bring them on carry on, just put em in a little plastic baggy. I fly and travel a lot, so usually I bring only necessities in a carry on. A crystal or two should definitely help!
@casualwitchcraft There’s a list of items allowed in luggage on the TSA and DHS website! 🖤
You can take most crystals on planes from my experience. Cables are safe but leave matches/lighters at home. I wouldn’t bring an athame or anything like that. I would pass on bringing herbs or any spices.
@witchofthenorse thank you! i will definitely check out their website.
@casualwitchcraft I’ve flown with crystals n such in my luggage I think you should be fine as long as they’re not in ur pockets
@casualwitchcraft Not craft stuff per se, but I've traveled with gemstones and metals (in checked luggage) without issue. You could probably even pack an athame (again, in checked)? But that might be a *little* obvious ∑;3
@casualwitchcraft it’s probably a little different since I’m in Canada, but if you’re checking a bag in my experience you can put basically anything in there as long as you don’t have to go through customs. Crystals are fine on planes, I’ve never had a problem with them. if there’s anything you’re worried about I’d suggest putting it in your checked bag, though make sure you wrap it up in clothes or something to keep it safe if it’s breakable. I’d look up American rules though to make sure
@casualwitchcraft
You can check your Airline guidelines on their Page usually, but i always try to put everything away in the luggage cause carry-ons are super restricted
@casualwitchcraft I usually bring my amethyst and selenite with me on my carry on luggage so I think you should be fine!
@casualwitchcraft I would DEF be careful with liquids and waters. if you. can, avoid bringing it. but, if youre bringing things like crystals, I’d recommend putting them on luggage. Usually, most things are a safer bet if you pack them away on luggage carefully.
