Pinned toot

I saw Marz's (@hillbillyoracle) re- post and thought that was smart, so here's mine!
I'm Alexandria, 26, trans woman (she/her), hella gay, really into Germanic languages (fluent in English & German, conversational in Norwegian, can read Old Norse), living that CPTSD life.
I do a little tarot, work with a deity sometimes whose name I don't know, and I've recently been interested in herbalism.

The purpose of putting pronouns in your bio is that most trans people must do this to avoid misgendering, and if only trans people have their pronouns on display it makes it really easy to single us out whether we want to be open about it or not, which leads to harassment.

If you're cis, put your pronouns in your bio. It helps trans people stay safe online.

Not "cis man/woman" or "male/female" or "mr/ms/mrs". The pronouns. Type out the pronouns. Whatever else you add is fine, but please just take 3 seconds, type the pronouns, hit save.

If you don't, trans people have no way of knowing whether you're a safe cis person or not, and I will generally assume you are not since you haven't put forth the minimal possible effort to help protect us.

Mastadon has been so helpful with my plants - I have a question about my dog.

He barks at everything. Other dogs. Every person. And not like a friendly oh I'm excited bark but a fuck off bark. We've been trying to teach him to not bark for years with little success and it suuuuucks for my stress level.

Any advice? He's too scared of a clicker to train with that. I tried for weeeeeks.

Plant folks of Mastadon:
My mom had a stroke and can't talk. I'm trying to keep her plants alive. I only know for sure there's an aloe and a hibiscus. The hibiscus especially needs some love. Advice???

Boosts appreciated.

This is your friendly reminder that not only did trans men, trans women, and nonbinary people exist and make contributions all the way back to ancient Sumer and recorded civilization -- but we also often had honored roles in temples and had poetry written about us.

Our modern world has forgotten a lot. Let's remember.

Day 5 of the Gender Census and things are good! It always slows down after the rush of the first few days.

We’re at 6,300 responses, and still climbing. :)

It's become common to abbreviate "nonbinary" as "enby." TIL that German-speaking #nonbinary (Nichtbinär) people abbreviate it as "Nibi." That's adorable!

For anyone following along with my Validation Day Tarot Challenge, I wrote down some thoughts on how I create rituals.

Could be interesting for other folks too. It's really bare bones, it's really just an overview of what I find important in rituals.

Took @petrosophia to a paint your own ceramics shop on Sunday. We had such a nice time I forgot to take pictures. But we just got the mugs back and they look so good. Guess who's is who's lol.
